There are many beautiful and interesting places that we can visit around the world. Each country has its unique features which are also a potential for tourism.


UNWTO or United Nations World Tourism Organization records how many tourists visit in each country for some time intervals based on certain specifications.


Based on these data we can determine which European countries are the most visited by tourists. We have summarized the 10 most visited European countries in the past few years.


1. France

France is the second-biggest nation in Europe after Ukraine. This country offers a lot of natural scenery and incredible historical tours. Based on available data, this hexagonal shaped country has become the most visited country by tourists since the mid-20th century.


In 2018, 89.4 million tourists were visiting France. There are many interesting attractions such as Notre-Dame de Paris, the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur, Louvre Museum, Eiffel Tower, and so on.
